NFC South: Brandon Miller

There's a sudden flurry of roster moves in the NFC South. Here's a look:
As expected, the Bucs placed Earnest Graham (ankle) and linebacker Geno Hayes (knee) on the injured reserve list. They filled their roster spots by signing running back Noah Herron and linebacker Matt McCoy, who was with the team earlier in the season.
Atlanta made a minor tweak to its roster, elevating receiver Eric Weems from the practice squad and releasing rookie defensive end Brandon Miller. Don't be surprised if Miller ends up back on the practice squad.
As reported last night, the Saints signed running back Mike Bell and put running back Aaron Stecker on the injured reserve list. One other move to add -- the Saints signed fullback Darian Barnes, who could get immediate playing time with Mike Karney hurt.
No big surprise here, but the Falcons just released receiver/return man Adam Jennings. He had started the season as Atlanta's punt returner, but struggled badly before losing his job to rookie Harry Douglas a couple of weeks ago.
Douglas has fared well in that role and also has shown some promise as a receiver. The Falcons filled Jennings' roster spot by elevating defensive end Brandon Miller from the practice squad. They signed wide receiver Chandler Williams to take Miller's spot on the practice squad.
Here's some background on Jennings, Miller and Williams from the Falcons' press release:
Jennings was selected by the Falcons in the sixth round (184th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. The Fresno State graduate totaled six receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown in 38 games while contributing with 53 punt returns.
Miller, 6-4, 259 pounds, was signed by Atlanta as a rookie free agent on April 28, 2008. Following training camp, he was signed to the Falcons practice squad where he spent the first nine games of the season. Miller is a graduate of the University of Georgia and totaled 73 tackles in his Bulldog career.
Williams, 5-11, 178 pounds, returns to the Falcons after being waived by Atlanta at the end of training camp. He was originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round (233rd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft and spent his rookie season on the Miami Dolphins practice squad.
