NFC South: Brian Clark

You may have seen the news story earlier about how more than 200 players could lose their status as unrestricted free agents in 2010 if a new labor deal isn’t reached.

I’ve obtained the entire list of players that could be impacted by this. Instead of becoming unrestricted free agents they would become restricted free agents, meaning their current teams could match any offer or receive draft-pick compensation. That's why we haven't seen a lot of clubs re-signing their own players recently. Here’s the breakdown for each NFC South team.

Atlanta Falcons: Tyson Clabo, Harvey Dahl, Jamaal Fudge, Michael Koenen, Jerious Norwood, Quinn Ojinnaka and Charlie Peprah.

Carolina Panthers: James Anderson, Thomas Davis, Jeff King, Richard Marshall and Rob Petitti.

New Orleans Saints: Mike Bell, Jammal Brown, Jahri Evans, Anthony Hargrove, Roman Harper, Herana-Daze Jones, Lance Moore, Courtney Roby, Zach Strief, David Thomas and Leigh Torrence.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mark Bradley, Brian Clark, Matt McCoy, Donald Penn, Barrett Ruud, Maurice Stovall, Jeremy Trueblood, Carnell (“Cadillac’’) Williams and Rod Wilson.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Injured cornerback Elbert Mack highlight’s Tampa Bay’s list of inactives for the game against the Saints.

Mack’s absence leaves the Bucs with Torrie Cox and Derrick Roberson as the backup cornerbacks to starters Ronde Barber and Aqib Talib. Receiver Yamon Figurs, cornerback Mike Mickens, guard Shawn Murphy, tackle James Lee, receiver Brian Clark and defensive tackle Dre Moore also are inactive for the Bucs.

Byron Leftwich has been designated as the third quarterback.

The Buccaneers will be without receiver Antonio Bryant on Sunday in Buffalo.

Bryant, who’s been dealing with a knee injury, did not travel with the team to Buffalo, the Bucs announced Saturday evening. That means rookie Sammie Stroughter, Maurice Stovall or Brian Clark will start opposite Michael Clayton.

The Bucs also made a couple of other roster moves. They placed cornerback E.J. Biggers on the injured-reserve list and signed safety Steve Cargile.

The injury news for the Bucs isn’t very good. They’ve listed receiver Antonio Bryant as doubtful for Sunday’s game at Buffalo.

Sounds like there’s almost no chance of Bryant playing. That leaves Maurice Stovall, Brian Clark and Sammie Stroughter as the options opposite Michael Clayton. I’m guessing Stroughter will get the start. He’s only a rookie, but he’s the best bet to stretch the field.

I’m also guessing Buffalo’s going to roll even more coverage toward tight end Kellen Winslow.
