The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just announced linebacker Quincy Black has been placed on injured reserve.

Black endured a helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday’s victory against San Diego. Although coach Greg Schiano said tests indicated no spinal damage, Black was experiencing some complications in his left arm.

Adam Hayward filled in for Black after the injury on Sunday and he is a possibility to start at strong-side linebacker. But Schiano said rookie Najee Goode and Jacob Cutrera also could be considered.

The Bucs also announced they have signed defensive end Ernest Owusu and receiver Diondre Borel to the practice squad. Tight end LaMark Brown and receiver Dale Moss were released from the practice squad.

Defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry, who was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday is back with the team.

The Bucs just announced they have re-signed Gilberry and waived guard Julian Vandervelde. That makes me feel a bit better about Tampa Bay’s depth at defensive tackle. Gerald McCoy and Roy Miller, who each have had injury problems in the past, are the starters and Gary Gibson was the only other true defensive tackle on the roster. Gilberry has some solid NFL experience after spending the past four seasons in Kansas City.

The Bucs also announced they have released guard Brian Folkers from the practice squad and replaced him by signing offensive tackle Bradley Sowell to the practice squad. Sowell joins linebacker Jacob Cutrera, tight end Drake Dunsmore, wide receiver Dale Moss, wide receiver Bert Reed, linebacker J.K. Schaffer, quarterback Adam Weber and defensive end Markus White on the practice squad.
