On the same day the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced employees will be furloughed next week (with a chance to regain lost wages if the full 2011 season is played), there’s news of more cutbacks in the NFC South.
Jeff Schultz reports the Atlanta Falcons have made minor payroll cuts to members of the office staff. The Falcons haven’t made any public announcement about this matter.
Schultz is exactly right when he says there’s something wrong when low-salaried secretaries are paying the price for a war between owners and players. Every NFL team employees several hundred people beyond players and coaches.
As news continues to spill out of cutbacks around the league, it looks like thousands of team employees could be paying the price as the labor war drags on.
