TAMPA, Fla. -- Just arrived at One Buccaneer Place for Tampa Bay's rookie minicamp, which begins later this afternoon.
I've got the updated list of rookies who will be trying out during this camp and there are a couple of interesting notes. The Bucs are looking at the past with some of these prospects.
They've got Gary Anderson Jr., a defensive back from Rice, in for a tryout. His father played running back for the Bucs and for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League. They also have brought in Notre Dame linebacker Maurice Crum Jr., whose father played in the NFL.
Another noteworthy name on the list is James Madison quarterback Rodney Landers, simply because he's a quarterback and the Bucs need someone besides Josh Freeman to throw passes in this camp.
The rest of the list includes: punter Matt Fodge, receiver Dorrell Jalloh, receiver Tommy Saunders, receiver Demond Tardy, receiver Co-Eric Riley, receiver Amarri Jackson, running back Paul McKinnis, running back Kareem Huggins, safety Merrill Johnson, running back Jay Lucas, cornerback Evan McCullogh, cornerback, Armando Murillo, safety Jeffrey Jack, fullback Conredge Collins, fullback Michael Christen, linebacker Nathan Williams, linebacker Terence Moore, linebacker Adetokunbo Abanikanda, linebacker Marcellus Speaks, guard Dion Small, tackle Demar Dotson, guard Calvin Darity, defensive end Jarrett Buie, offensive lineman Marc Dile, guard Michael Gates, tight end Cedric Hill, tight end Chris Zellner, defensive end Neefy Moffett, defensive tackle Melvin Matthew and defensive tackle Nate Robinson.
