For just a few minutes, let’s have a little fun and take a break from all the fallout over the New Orleans Saints’ punishments for their bounty program.

Let’s take a walk over to SportsNation where they’re conducting the Madden 13 Cover Vote. There already was a play-in round in which two players from each team were pitted against each other. Now, we’re down to just one player from each team and the competition is interesting.

In this round, we’ve got two head-to-head meetings of NFC South players. Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is a heavy favorite against Tampa Bay running back LeGarrette Blount. Newton is a No. 1 seed and Blount is a No. 16 seed.

In the other matchup, New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees is a No. 4 seed and he’s going against Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan, who is a No. 12 seed.

Go on over and cast your votes.

Call It: Cam Newton a Pro Bowler?

Carolina coach Ron Rivera said recently that rookie quarterback Cam Newton is worthy of a Pro Bowl berth.

A lot of fans seem to agree. As of Wednesday, Newton was third in the fan voting behind Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees in the NFC. Three quarterbacks are selected for the all-star game. Fan voting comes to an end next week and counts for one-third of the total vote.

After that, coaches and players around the league will vote and we’ll find out Dec. 27 if Newton makes the Pro Bowl.

Newton already has rushed for more touchdowns in a season than any quarterback in history. He also is closing in on Peyton Manning's rookie record for passing yards. But Newton also has made some rookie mistakes and he’s on a losing team.

Should he make the Pro Bowl?

Here’s your chance to voice your opinion. Cast your vote in the SportsNation poll to the right and feel free to back up your opinion in the comments section below.
