Three potential problems for Cardinals

These came to mind while looking ahead to the Vikings-Cardinals game Sunday:

  • Tarvaris Jackson burned Arizona for four touchdown passes, no interceptions and a 135.5 rating during the Vikings' 35-14 victory at University of Phoenix Stadium last season. How might Brett Favre fare?

  • Vikings defensive end Jared Allen had 2.0 sacks against Arizona in that 2008 game. He has 42.5 sacks in 41 games over the last two-plus seasons. He'll be matched against Cardinals left tackle Mike Gandy, who is battling injury, or backup Jeremy Bridges.

  • Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner still doesn't feel right after taking a hit to the head in Week 11. Beating the Vikings without Warner seems unlikely. Putting Warner at risk against such a fearsome pass rush seems unwise.

The Cardinals are a good team, but this matchup seems problematic in key areas. The Cardinals generally struggle against teams with elite individual pass-rushers. The Vikings are such a team.
