Mike Martz, the former St. Louis Rams head coach and conductor of the "Greatest Show on Turf" joined Reed Low and I on 101 ESPN on Wednesday. Martz offered great perspective on a variety of topics, including some strong comments on things he would have done differently if he could do it over again.

Of more pressing importance, we asked Martz what he thinks the Rams need to do in the draft to get the team to the next level. To nobody's surprise, the offensive-minded Martz pointed to wide receiver and offensive line as the areas most in need of help.

We've already spent plenty of space here discussing the merits of drafting someone such as Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson or Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins, but Martz clearly lays out the need to do whatever possible to help quarterback Sam Bradford.

"Remember this: If you don't have a receiver corps that can separate and get open quickly, it forces the QB to hold the ball, and if you have got to hold on to the ball, you have to have a great offensive line, and if you don't have a great offensive line or those kinds of receivers then that quarterback is going to get beat up," Martz said. "And that's where they have been."

For the record, Martz again endorsed Bradford as the team's starting quarterback. Martz has long believed in Bradford as a franchise-caliber quarterback and nothing has changed in that regard.
