FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Former Seahawks coach and part-time NFL Network analyst Jim Mora spent part of Tuesday on radio row.

He's definitely a Saints fan for this Super Bowl -- he and his father coached in New Orleans -- and I wouldn't blame him if he didn't root for the Seahawks anytime soon. One of the things I told Mora during a conversation between radio appearances was that his firing, however unfair after only one season, wasn't personal so much as it was a product of a toxic environment around him.

Mora has generally been careful with his public comments on the situation and that approach will serve him well as he rebuilds his career. As poorly as the Seahawks performed in 2009, it's easy to forget that Mora's 26-22 record entering last season was one game better than Sean Payton's 25-23 mark to that point.

Fortunes change quickly in the NFL.
