The Cardinals entered the offseason thinking Al Johnson would be their starting center. They later placed the veteran on injured reserve and released him when Johnson refused to reduce his salary to the team's expectations.
Johnson landed on his feet Saturday when the Dolphins signed him to their 53-man roster. Dolphins vice president Bill Parcells was the Cowboys' head coach when Dallas made Johnson a second-round draft choice in 2003. Chronic knee injuries have affected Johnson, but he started 14 games for the Cardinals last season and 31 for the Cowboys in 2004 and 2005.
