Seahawks should be patient

No matter how nice Brandon Marshall might look in a Seahawks jersey, the team shouldn't rush into an agreement without knowing the market.

How many teams other than Seattle have interest in Marshall? Signing Marshall to an offer sheet would cost Seattle its first-round choice, sixth overall. That price is too high this early in the game, and probably ever.

The Seahawks should get a feel for Marshall during his scheduled visit Saturday. The meeting gives Seattle an opportunity to communicate directly with Marshall, something that will not be as easy later in the process. After assuring Marshall of any interest, the Seahawks could then put the pressure on Denver to work out a deal.

We all know the Broncos want to trade Marshall. We do not know how many teams are eager to acquire Marshall, or for what price. There's never a good time to bid against oneself.
