Injuries figure to hurt the 49ers more in Week 15 than in any week this season. Running back Frank Gore, return specialist Allen Rossum and pass-rusher Roderick Green were among the players named inactive.
Gore had eight rushes of at least 20 yards in 229 carries this season. His replacement, DeShaun Foster, has one carry for 20-plus yards in his last 284 attempts.
If the 49ers lack a big-play threat in their backfield, the Dolphins can presumably focus more on quarterback Shaun Hill. A strong showing by Hill -- on the road, against a division-leading opponent, without Gore -- would strengthen his resume for 2009, no doubt.
