Rob Sims is signing his restricted free agent tender with the Seahawks, ESPN's John Clayton is reporting.
That doesn't necessarily mean a trade is imminent. But if a trade agreement is reached, the move becomes a more streamlined process with Sims already under contract.
The signing prevents another team signing Sims to an offer sheet, at which point the Seahawks would happily accept a fourth-round choice in return. This could tell us that the price for Sims will be lower than his tendered round.
