With incumbent starting guard Deuce Lutui unsigned, the Cardinals brought in former Steelers guard Kendall Simmons for a tryout this week, ESPN's John Clayton reports.

Simmons played under Cardinals coaches Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm in Pittsburgh. Lutui, as a restricted free agent, has until Thursday to sign an offer sheet with another team. His rights would revert to the Cardinals after that point.

The Cardinals already protected themselves at the position by signing guard Rex Hadnot in free agency. Simmons started three games for the Bills last season.

Also according to Clayton, the Cardinals brought in former Bears safety Mike Brown for a tryout.
