The Cardinals did not sell out their wild-card playoff game by the TV blackout deadline Thursday, but the league is giving them another 24-hour extension to help get the game on local television.

About 3,700 tickets remained as of 4:30 p.m. ET Thursday. That number has come down by about 3,000 in the past few hours, leaving the Cardinals optimistic.

"Based on the activity we've seen over the last couple days and particularly in the last 24 hours we're very optimistic that this extension will get us where we need to be," team executive Ron Minegar said in a statement released by the Cardinals.

Ticket prices start at $54.85. A Phoenix pool-supply company purchased what the team described as a "large block" of tickets to help avoid a blackout.
