Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, perhaps mindful that only on-field production matters for his NFL credibility at this point, has generally kept a low profile this offseason.
Leinart did surface on Phoenix radio recently and this quote stood out from his conversation with Mike Jurecki of XTRA910 radio:
Leinart hit on the preparation theme again -- and how a quarterback handles himself -- when discussing what he took from Kurt Warner.
The season can't get here fast enough for me in terms of getting a better read on the quarterback situation in Arizona. Leinart knows what the rest of us know and he acknowledges as much during this interview, transcribed by Sports Radio Interviews and available for listening here. He remains unproven and after spending most of the last few seasons behind Warner, it's time for Leinart to show what he can do.

I have always been focused on football, to be honest with you. I have always loved it. This is what I was born to do, but I don’t think that I really knew how much it took in preparation and what it takes to be great and be successful. That is what I understand right now by being injured, by sitting behind a Hall of Famer and just kind of saying, 'OK if I want to be great and I want to be successful, this is what I have got to do and that is what I have learned.'
