TAMPA, Fla. -- While the Cardinals worry about losing their offensive coordinator to a promotion, the 49ers are still trying to find one.

Rob Chudzinski, who interviewed for the job, will not be joining the 49ers this season. He has accepted the Chargers' offer to become assistant head coach/tight ends.

The process doesn't matter as much as whether the 49ers hire the right coach to run their offense. But four weeks have passed since the team fired Mike Martz.

Scott Linehan turned down the 49ers' offer to take the same job with the Lions. Dan Reeves also interviewed, but we've heard nothing to suggest a deal with the 49ers is imminent or even likely.
