TAMPA, Fla. -- Lots of confusion at media day about the difference between Tampa and Tampa Bay.

That's understandable when you get people from around the world. But there's a simple clarification.

Tampa is the city. Tampa Bay actually has two meanings. It's the body of water that sits between Tampa and St. Petersburg. Tampa Bay also is used to describe the region (much like the San Francisco Bay Area) that stretches roughly from Sarasota north toward Ocala and east to Lakeland.
