Rams leading, but Steven Jackson hurt

The St. Louis Rams held a 14-13 lead over the Washington Redskins late in the first half Sunday when Steven Jackson limped off the field with an apparent knee injury.

A knee problem has bothered Jackson previously this season.

The Rams' failure to sign a proven or promising backup leaves the team vulnerable to criticism if injuries sideline Jackson for a second consecutive season.

Update: This was a groin injury, according to the Rams.
