IR move with Leroy Hill could spell end

Leroy Hill was once a hard-hitting linebacker with tremendous upside for the Seattle Seahawks.

The team placed Hill on injured reserve Friday -- a move that could precipitate Hill's departure from the team after the season. Seattle already reduced Hill's pay and wiped out the remaining years on his contract while Hill worked through off-field issues that resulted in a league suspension.

Hill has had a hard time staying healthy and out of trouble. That makes him a risk and headache for a new coaching staff with no ties to him.

With Hill on injured reserve, the Seahawks re-signed defensive tackle Craig Terrill, who could provide depth if Brandon Mebane does not play against the St. Louis Rams in Week 4.
