Those who have followed the Seahawks closely might remember the team's long-snapping adventures before and after J.P. Darche provided six consecutive seasons of excellence in the role earlier this decade.
In retrospect, the Seahawks probably could have saved themselves some trouble by keeping Jason Kyle, who spent the 1995 through 1998 seasons with Seattle. Kyle, who has been with Carolina since 2001, recently paid a free-agent visit to the Cardinals. He is among the candidates to replace recently released longtime Arizona snapper Nathan Hodel.
We have seen a progression of snappers visit the Seahawks and Cardinals in recent days. Former Broncos snapper Mike Leach was scheduled to visit both teams. Texans free-agent snapper Bryan Pittman has visited Seattle.
