NFL teams continue to play musical long-snappers, with former longtime Seattle snapper J.P. Darche on his way out of Kansas City.

Seattle's long-running quest to find a steady snapper began when Darche suffered a season-ending injury in 2006. He signed with the Chiefs in 2007, snapping in all 16 games that season. He has snapped in 120 regular-season games since 2000.

Darche suffered a torn ACL in the second game of the 2008 season. He played in five games before undergoing surgery. He's about one month away from being full strength. Would the Seahawks bring him back? They still need a snapper, but general manager Tim Ruskell wanted more size at the position.

Ryan Senser and Tyler Schmitt are the current snappers on Seattle's roster. Jeff Robinson, an unrestricted free agent, handled the job last season. The team also brought in former Texans snapper Bryan Pittman for a tryout.
