DANA POINT, Calif. -- The Seahawks' trade for Cory Redding hit a brief snag when a routine medical exam showed an issue with a tendon in one of the defensive lineman's knees.

The discovery delayed the trade. Tests eased any concerns and the Seahawks feel great about what Redding offers in terms of versatility and potential.

The team does not expect Redding to participate in its first minicamp practices, which are about two weeks away. But Redding should be full strength in plenty of time for the season.
