A quick look at 53-man rosters from Feb. 1, date of Super Bowl XLIII, provides a reference point for seeing how NFC West teams have changed so far this offseason.

I'll start with San Francisco.

Gone from the 49ers' 53-man roster and injured reserve list in the 58 days since the Super Bowl (13):

Offense

Jamie Martin, QB

J.T. O'Sullivan, QB

Billy Bajema, TE

DeShaun Foster, RB

Sean Ryan, TE

Bryant Johnson, WR

Jonas Jennings, T

Damane Duckett, T

Defense

Keith Lewis, S

Donald Strickland, CB

Roderick Green, LB

Ronald Fields, DL
Tully Banta-Cain, LB

New to the 49ers' 53-man roster in the 58 days since the Super Bowl (13):

Offense

Damon Huard, QB

Moran Norris, FB

Marvel Smith, OT

Joe Toledo, OT

Brandon Jones, WR

Micheal Spurlock, WR

Mark Bradford, WR

J.J. Finley, TE

Mark Washington, WR

Defense

Demetric Evans, DE

Jimmy Williams, DB

Lewis Baker, S

Justin Roland, LB

The 49ers have also welcomed back five players from injured reserve (Alex Smith, Zak Keasey, Shawntae Spencer, Jay Moore and Arnaz Battle). Some of the players added had already been signed to "future" contracts by Feb. 1, but they had yet to join the active roster.

No doubt about it, the 49ers plan to build through the draft.
