Franchise player Oshiomogho Atogwe's presence at the Rams' first minicamp under head coach Steve Spagnuolo qualifies as a show of good faith.

  Atogwe

First impressions are hard to shake. Atogwe is making the right one here. He's seeing the big picture and realizing it's important to earn his spot even though the team has already recognized him with the mandatory franchise offer [one year, $6.3 million].

Spagnuolo on Atogwe's presence: It says a great deal. It says a lot about the character of the person and I've already conveyed that to those guys. I think it's a great thing.

Receiver Derek Stanley was the only injured player withheld from practice. That means tight end Randy McMichael, sidelined with a broken leg last season, has recovered enough to practice. Stanley underwent surgery after sustaining a knee injury against Seattle in December.

Spagnuolo also told reporters he might open practices to media in the not-too-distant future. He wanted the first few sessions closed while players focused on getting things right.
