Ken Whisenhunt grew up in Augusta and worked at the famed site of the Masters. ESPN's First Take caught up with him there during the tournament.
A few highlights:
- Whisenhunt is following and rooting for his friend, Rocco Mediate.
- Beyond Mediate, Whisenhunt likes Tiger Woods and Jeff Ogilvy to challenge for the Masters title.
- If he had to spend a full day at one hole, No. 13 would be an easy choice. Whisenhunt: "No question, just because of the risk-reward. A lot of people don't understand, a short little par 5, but there are so many subtleties to that hole as far as the difference in elevation in the fairway and then trying to get it to that green. So many things happen there."
- Reports that Whisenhunt has shot par at Augusta are true, but how would he fare under tournament conditions? "I would like to break 100, but I don't know if I could do that."
- The best golfer on the Cardinals? "You mean besides me, right? Just kidding. That is a title that maybe will get resolved before training camp."
- Quarterbacks are often good golfers. What about Kurt Warner? Long pause. "Not great. Golf is not a big part [of his life]. [Matt] Leinart is working on his game, so he is the one trying to take over as the contender, I guess."
