NFC West quarterbacks Troy Smith, Matt Hasselbeck and Sam Bradford did their part in contributing to a record-setting week for NFL passers.
All three posted Week 10 passer ratings above the 96.3 average for quarterbacks across the league. Derek Anderson and Charlie Whitehurst brought down the overall divisional rating slightly to 92.3.
ESPN Stats & Information checked with Elias Sports Bureau before noting that NFL quarterbacks have never combined for a higher rating in a single regular-season week (minimum five games in a week).
The combined 96.3 rating was higher than career totals for all but two quarterbacks with at least 1,400 attempts (Philip Rivers and Steve Young).
Oddly, the most consistently productive quarterback, Peyton Manning, had an off week with a 69.8 rating in Week 10. Rivers had a bye.
