Hit on Bradford draws $5,000 fine

The NFL assessed a $5,000 fine again San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald for his hit on St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford in Week 16.

McDonald struck Bradford in the head area, according to the league. This hit did not appear significant when I watched it live, but the league looked at it more closely and disagreed.

I thought the league might levy fines against the Arizona Cardinals' Deuce Lutui or the Dallas Cowboys' Stephen Bowen after they took shots at one another in the Christmas Day game. Neither player was fined, however.
