The week ahead: Setting table for season

We've got power rankings scheduled to appear later Tuesday and one NFC West team has fallen further than any in the NFL since our last rankings a month ago.

I'll have more on that once the rankings publish around 1 p.m. ET.

Paul Kuharsky, Pat Yasinskas and Dan Graziano joined me in putting together a video piece discussing rankings and our expectations heading into the season.

The weekly MVP Watch will resume running on the NFC West blog each Wednesday, whether or not the division has anyone ranking among the top 10. Receivers generally do not win the award, but it wouldn't be a stretch to put Larry Fitzgerald on the list.

Some of the other familiar weekly in-season staples will resume next week. The NFC West Gridiron Challenge is back for another year as well. The weekly TV crew breakdowns for NFC West teams have run their course as separate items, I think, but I'll tweet out the pairing instead.

My first two travel weeks are set. I'll be heading to San Francisco for the 49ers-Seahawks game in Week 1 even though the St. Louis Rams' opener against Philadelphia has great appeal, too. Graziano from the NFC East blog will be there.

In Week 2, I'm heading to the Cardinals' game at Washington on Sunday, followed by the Rams' game at the New York Giants on Monday night.
