Horn, McCardell among available receivers

The Seahawks are without Nate Burleson. The Rams are without Drew Bennett. Both teams need help at receiver, and the list of available veterans isn't very deep.

Joe Horn, 36, and Keenan McCardell, 38, remain unsigned. McCardell caught 22 passes in 10 games with the Redskins last season. He started one game. He has 883 career receptions. Horn caught 27 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown with the Falcons last season, starting 12 games. He has 603 career receptions.

The Seahawks and Rams aren't in position to be choosy. Seattle in particular needs numbers at the position just to get through games. The way the Seahawks are losing receivers, the team might want to think hard before moving Seneca Wallace to the position while Burleson and Deion Branch recover from injuries. Risking Wallace could threaten the team's depth at quarterback while starter Matt Hasselbeck plays through a lingering back problem.
