The San Francisco 49ers' 20-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns came as a surprise to those of us who predicted a 20-9 outcome.

That oh-so-close call salvaged little from a rough week predicting NFC West outcomes. I went 2-2, missing on the St. Louis Rams' victory and failing to anticipate the Seattle Seahawks' defeat to Cincinnati. That leaves my record for the season at 18-8.

I'll steer clear of picking the Seahawks to win at Dallas, which probably means Seattle is about to upset another NFC East opponent on the road. Few foresaw the Seahawks' 36-25 victory over the New York Giants in the most recent game Tarvaris Jackson started for Seattle.

Jackson has completed 61 of 100 passes for 808 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions in his last three games. Seattle would have beaten Cleveland instead of suffering a 6-3 defeat had Jackson played, in my view. I also think Jackson can keep the Seahawks competitive at Dallas.

A look at Week 9 predictions for division teams:
  • St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals, 4:15 p.m. ET. Both starting quarterbacks could miss the game. I'm inclined to side with the home team and will not let the Rams' upset victory over New Orleans talk me out of it. The Cardinals aren't going to go 1-15, are they? Sando's best guess: Cardinals 21, Rams 20.
  • Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys, 1 p.m. ET. The Cowboys have lost three of four. The Seahawks are 3-16 on the road since 2009, but 1-1 in their last two. This matchup looks like a tough one for the Seahawks' offensive line, but the Giants had a big edge in that area as well. Sando's best guess: Cowboys 23, Seahawks 16.
  • San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins, 1 p.m. ET. The 49ers can go 4-0 on the road in 10 a.m. PT kickoffs and 7-1 overall for the season. Their defense has to like its chances after the Redskins failed to score against Buffalo last week. Sando's best guess: 49ers 19, Redskins 9.

That Rams-Cardinals game has me going back and forth. Better publish this thing before I talk myself into a change. What's your feel?
