NFL makes right call on Cardinals' Wilson

The hit drew a penalty flag and Wilson likely faces a fine, but the trail of carnage left in his career-long wake, including a league-leading 17 personal fouls through the 2007 season, will not lead the league to suspend him.
That is the right call, in my view. Wilson appeared to be making a hard-nosed play on Davis. He did not appear to be head hunting or trying to violate the rules. The letter of the rule might compel the league to throw a flag or even fine him, but the league has more discretion with suspensions. Wilson did not deserve one here.
