Two starting quarterbacks from the NFC West, Matt Hasselbeck and Marc Bulger, failed to last the first three games of the 2009 regular season.

A third, Kurt Warner, appears to be hurting as he heads into a Week 4 bye.

The quarterback injury situations stood out in Week 3 because the NFL's two most durable quarterbacks, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning, beat NFC West teams. The toughness Favre showed against the 49ers was remarkable. The 49ers tagged him hard, including when defensive end Justin Smith bull-rushed Steve Hutchinson and then charged forward, hitting Favre on the knee. Favre appeared to be playing on one leg for a while thereafter, but he never missed a snap.

Warner remains the most durable quarterback in the NFC West, having not missed a start to injury since 2005.
