The Seahawks' struggles since last season put team president Tim Ruskell in a potentially precarious situation.

He's in the final year of his contract, the team is 2-4 and injuries are threatening to derail Seattle again.

The subject came up Thursday morning on KJR radio in Seattle.

"I don't think his employment status is as tenuous as some people think," Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times said. "I would be very surprised if they made a change."

A change wouldn't surprise me if the Seahawks faltered horribly this season. In the end, though, the question isn't so much whether Ruskell deserves another contract. The issue is what decision makes the most sense for the team given that Jim Mora is in his first year as the team's head coach.
