What 2-4 could mean for the Seahawks

While Matt Hasselbeck was right when he said it's ridiculous to write off the Seahawks following their 2-4 start, recent history does justify diminished expectations.

Fifty-eight teams have opened NFL seasons with 2-4 records since 2001.

They finished with 6.3 victories on average, with 6.0 victories as the median.

Nearly three-fourths of them -- 42 of 58 -- finished with losing records.

The 2008 Rams went from 2-4 to 2-14. The 2008 Dolphins went from 2-4 to 11-5.

The chart shows how many of the 58 teams since 2001 have finished with various records.
