Seriously, though, it's for a good cause.
The 49ers have decided to hold out veteran safety Michael Lewis for at least Week 7. Lewis has suffered three concussions since August.
Better safe than sorry.
Lewis is more of a run-defending safety. The Texans are a pass-oriented team. This will be a tough matchup for the 49ers' pass defense no matter who plays strong safety.
