Vernon Davis leads the NFL in touchdown receptions after Week 7. He has six.

No tight end has led the league in that category after Week 7 since Tony Gonzalez also had six at this point in 2002. (Thanks to ESPN Stats & Information for looking up that one.)

Davis is also on pace to finish with a career-high 77 receptions.

The chart compares projected reception totals for established NFC West tight ends to the over-under totals I established in May. Back then, I assumed Michael Crabtree and Brandon Jones would join Josh Morgan and Isaac Bruce as primary receiving targets for the 49ers. Crabtree and Jones are only now becoming factors (assuming Jones gets on the field at some point here).

Carlson's pace has slowed considerably in recent weeks.

No Cardinals tight end appeared in my projections because it was unclear in May which player would emerge as the starter. Ben Patrick is only now getting going.
