The facts: The Arizona Cardinals fell to 4-3 with a 21-14 road defeat against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7.
The upside: Even the worst defeats tend to feature a bright spot or two.
- LaRod Stephens-Howling, long a valued contributor to the offense, showed he could produce with an expanded role. He carried 20 times for 104 yards and a touchdown.
- The Cardinals limited the Vikings to six punts and an interception over the final 33:49 of the game. They allowed two first downs after halftime.
- Paris Lenon and Sam Acho intercepted passes.
- Arizona held the Vikings to one third-down conversion in 10 chances.
- The Cardinals downed five of Dave Zastudil's punts inside the Minnesota 20-yard line.
- Arizona held the Vikings' Percy Harvin to 37 yards receiving, 10 yards rushing and 47 yards on kickoff returns.
- Receiver Andre Roberts caught seven passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.
- The Cardinals scored touchdowns on both red zone possessions.
- Inside linebacker Daryl Washington collected two more sacks. He has six in seven games, putting him on pace for 13-plus sacks this season.
- John Skelton completed 11 of 14 passes in the fourth quarter on his way to 262 yards passing overall.
