The St. Louis Rams will be facing a rookie quarterback for the fourth time this season when Ryan Lindley starts for Arizona in Week 12.

Lindley
Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson and Ryan Tannehill enjoyed varying degrees of success against the Rams this season. St. Louis won two of the three games and nearly won the third before falling to Tannehill's Miami Dolphins on the road, 17-14.

Those three rookies completed 69.9 percent of their passes for 551 yards with three touchdowns, four interceptions, six sacks, eight rushing first downs, two rushing touchdowns and a roughly average 53.3 QBR score. That score spikes to 68.5 without Wilson's three-interception game in Week 4.

The Rams had allowed two touchdown passes while picking off eight passes through that Seattle game. The team has allowed eight touchdown passes without getting an interception in seven subsequent weeks.

Griffin and Tannehill combined for 70.7 percent completions with three touchdowns passing, two touchdowns rushing (by Griffin), one interception and four sacks.

Lindley will be making his first NFL start after replacing John Skelton during the Cardinals' 23-19 defeat at Atlanta in Week 11. The Cardinals held a 13-3 lead when Lindley entered the game. Coach Ken Whisenhunt benched Skelton for poor performance and decided to stick with Lindley this week.

"He did a nice job in a hostile environment handling the game without a lot of practice during the week," Whisenhunt told reporters Wednesday.

The Rams' pass defense has dropped off dramatically since picking off eight passes in the first four games. The team did collect nine sacks against Arizona's Kevin Kolb in Week 5. Kolb remains sidelined by injuries suffered during a Week 6 home defeat to Buffalo. The Cardinals have lost four additional games since then, extending their losing streak to six.
