Coaches generally do not publicly criticize players, but sometimes they withhold compliments. The Rams' Steve Spagnuolo was pretty gracious with his praise for quarterback Marc Bulger before the team broke for its bye week Wednesday.
"There’s 11 guys that are involved and Marc has done exactly what we needed him [to do]," Spagnuolo told reporters. "He has been a leader, he manages the game, gets the ball to [No.] 39 [Steven Jackson], and there are pieces that he is working through, too. There have been a lot of guys that we have thrown in there as wideouts because of injury and what not. I think he has been a pro about everything, I really do."
Any quarterback dealing with the Rams' situation at receiver would fail to realize his potential. The Rams will have to strongly consider selecting a quarterback near the top of the 2010 draft, but if Bulger surfaces with a better team, I could see him reviving his career.
