Those footsteps you hear belong to me after DeAngelo Williams, Frank Gore and the Seattle defense pushed my team near the 94th percentile in the NFC West Gridiron Challenge.

This could be where things get tough, however.

I released Adrian Peterson before the Vikings bye, then released Andre Johnson before the Texans' bye. Both players were locked in at bargain prices. Finding worthy replacements at cheaper prices could be tough.

A big "thanks" goes to xpollolocox, presently fourth overall in the standings, for convincing me to release marquee players during their bye weeks. I hadn't played in a fantasy league since the early 1990s and had never played in a Gridiron Challenge league. I think the advice was sound.

Gore scored 21 points where I would have had none if Peterson had remained on the roster.

Congrats to eftimeo for scoring the most points in Week 10 -- 168 -- on a lineup featuring Kurt Warner (30 points), Matt Hasselbeck (17), Maurice Jones-Drew (18), Gore (21), Mike Sims-Walker (20), Larry Fitzgerald (24), Vernon Davis (10), Matt Stover (8) and the Seattle defense (20). Nice use of NFC West talent, eftimeo.

I would also be remiss if I failed to acknowledge improved efforts from the sandowife entry. She moved up from 1,611th to 1,418th overall with a 131-point week featuring key contributions from the NFC West.

The chart shows overall NFC West Gridiron Challenge leaders through Week 9, plus a couple of stragglers.
