The NFL window for negotiating with projected unrestricted free agents opened overnight. The NFC West has responded with ... crickets so far.
The Seattle Seahawks' and San Francisco 49ers' meetings with veteran defensive lineman John Abraham were unrelated to the negotiating window. Abraham was already free to test the market because the Atlanta Falcons released him; he is not an unrestricted free agent in the strict definition of the term.
And so we're left to talk about what could or should happen in free agency, not what has happened or is happening at present. Dave Grosby, Bob Stelton and I focused mostly on the Seahawks during our Friday conversation on 710ESPN Seattle. Richard Sherman, Matt Flynn and Charles Woodson were among the subjects we discussed. Hope you enjoy.
