Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times says the Seahawks were basically horrible against the Vikings. O'Neil: "At this point, the Seahawks resemble a gas-guzzling sedan that runs only occasionally and skids every time it gets on the road. If the government were still handing out cash for clunkers, Seattle might get something for this wreck of an afternoon when it was beaten 35-9 by the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome."

Also from O'Neil: Brett Favre is pretty good. Coach Jim Mora: "The guy is remarkable, but we have to play better."

More from O'Neil: a few notes, plus this quote from Mora: "This is the most complete team we have faced by far. We have tried everything, even went to the blue pants. We are going to keep searching. We are not going to throw up our hands and give up."

Jerry Brewer of the Seattle Times says the Seahawks were missing more than Steve Hutchinson against the Vikings. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck: "When they put Tarvaris Jackson in during the third quarter, it's embarrassing to be down that far."

Eric D. Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune describes the Seahawks' offensive futility by noting that the team did not cross midfield until 2:58 remained in the third quarter. Seattle also set a franchise record for fewest rushing yards in a game.

Dave Boling of the Tacoma News Tribune didn't see much worth saving when he watched the Seahawks at Minnesota. Hasselbeck, Justin Forsett, David Hawthorne and Max Unger looked pretty good. Too many big-ticket players, from Patrick Kerney to Deion Branch, simply aren't producing.

Also from Boling: a Seahawks report card noting that the team has lost 19 of its last 26 games.

More from Boling: Hutchinson stops short of comparing these Vikings to the 2005 Seahawks, but he does say this: "I'm not good at comparisons. All I know is we have a team that is 9-1 and we have guys that are as close as I’ve seen in any locker room … offense, defense, special teams. We all get along well; we can joke. There’s no factions, no cliques, nothing like that in the locker room. That’s what you want in a team that is going to try to make a run, and we have that kind of chemistry."

Matt Pitman of 710ESPN Seattle offers postgame audio from the Seahawks' defeat.
