Around the NFC West: Putting in the work
By Mike Sando
NFC West quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick, Sam Bradford and Russell Wilson have organized offseason workouts for teammates during those times when rules prevented players from practicing at team headquarters.
Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald remains the No. 1 camp counselor for the Arizona Cardinals. Quarterbacks Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton and Ryan Lindley are joining him for the annual sessions Fitzgerald organizes in his home state of Minnesota.
Tom Pelissero of USA Today has the story from Minneapolis. Palmer told him that Fitzgerald "runs the show" in a way that makes life easier for a quarterback. Fitzgerald, ever the perfectionist, continues to engage in critical self-scouting.
"Look, this is a big year for me, coming off my worst season as a pro," Fitzgerald told Pelissero. "I know Carson wants to play well this year. This is a huge year, and we're leaning on each other. It's simple as that. I need him as bad as anybody, and I'm going to go out there and give everything I can for him."
