Analyzing McShay mock: 49ers

By Bill Williamson

Todd McShay is offering his latest mock draft . This time, he is picking as if he is making the choice, instead of projecting whom the team will pick.

He picked an interesting player for the 49ers. It is not a player I've seen connected to San Francisco much.

Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA.

My thoughts: This is an intriguing choice. Barr was once considered a top-five pick. But his stock may be dropping. The fit works with Aldon Smith's future clouded. I'm not sure the 49ers would take Barr, as they have more pressing needs at cornerback and receiver. But if the 49ers think Barr -- who has worried some teams because of his lack of big plays in college -- is a top talent, the price is surely right with the 30th pick.
