What is Seahawks' plan in GM search?

First came reports Tom Heckert was a finalist to become the Seahawks' general manager.

Then we found out the Seahawks had only recently requested permission from the Eagles to speak with the veteran personnel man. They hadn't even interviewed him.

Now we're hearing that Heckert canceled an interview with the Seahawks after interviewing with Mike Holmgren in Cleveland.

I'm sure Holmgren had nothing but great things to say about the opening in Seattle. After all, Holmgren liked the Seahawks' offer so much, he moved to Ohio.

Do the Seahawks have a plan?

Tim Ruskell resigned 36 days ago. The team had to know Ruskell wouldn't be back even before then.

It's tough to criticize a move that hasn't happened yet. Seattle can still get this right. But more than a month into the process, we've seen little evidence of the team making a decisive move to find new leadership.

The longer this continues, the more interim GM Ruston Webster has to like his chances.
