Seahawks claim Rams QB off waivers
By Mike Sando
The Seahawks went through their postdraft minicamp with only three quarterbacks.
That wasn't enough.
The team claimed former Central Washington quarterback Mike Reilly off waivers from St. Louis and that should come as no surprise. Reilly spent time in Green Bay when Seahawks general manager John Schneider was there. Seattle also had interest last year, bringing in Reilly for a tryout in late September.
This move also reaffirms what Seattle thought about most quarterbacks available in the 2010 draft. The team felt better about acquiring Charlie Whitehurst from San Diego and claiming another quarterback off waivers than it would have felt about drafting for the position.
Reilly, undrafted in 2009, spent parts of last season with the Steelers and Packers.
The Seahawks also announced they have signed cornerback Marcus Udell, receiver Chris Duvalt and receiver Victor James.
