Traded to Detroit? Does it get any better than that for an NFL player? I think it does. If Julian Peterson agrees, he'll get a chance at payback when the Lions visit the Seahawks for a 2009 regular-season game.I'll revisit the Seahawks' opponents for 2009 below.
Home opponents: Bears, Lions, Jaguars, Titans, Bucs, Cardinals, Rams, 49ers.
Road opponents: Packers, Vikings, Texans, Colts, Cowboys, Cardinals, Rams, 49ers.
Opponents' 2008 record: 117-139
Projected 2009 strength of schedule: .457
Games in Eastern time zone: 1 (Colts)
Worth noting: The Seahawks face three fewer games in the Eastern time zone than they did in 2008. They face eight games against teams that finished the 2008 season with winning records. That includes games against the Titans (13-3), Colts (12-4), Vikings (10-6), Bears (9-7), Cowboys (9-7) and Bucs (9-7), plus two games against the Cardinals (9-7). The Seahawks will have faced the Cowboys seven times this decade, including once in the playoffs.
What we learned Sunday: As the third-place team in the NFC West, the Seahawks drew a home game against the Bucs (third in NFC South) and a road game against the Cowboys (third in NFC East).
