Seattle could have issues in its secondary
By Mike Sando
OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Seattle Seahawks' top two right cornerbacks will not play against Oakland in Week 8.
Kelly Jennings (hamstring) and Walter Thurmond (concussion) were named inactive Sunday. This could make it tougher for the Seahawks to defend against multiple-receiver sets. Seattle has frequently used a "Bandit" defense featuring extra defensive backs.
Roy Lewis will make his first NFL start at right cornerback against the Raiders. Defensive back Nate Ness is part of a 45-man game-day roster for the first time in his career.
Also inactive for Seattle: running back Michael Robinson, linebacker Matt McCoy, offensive lineman Allen Barbre, left tackle Russell Okung, tight end Anthony McCoy and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane.
