OAKLAND, Calif. -- You won't get preseason play-by-play from me unless Matt Leinart keeps throwing interceptions. He just tossed his third of the first half.
This time, Leinart had Anquan Boldin open for a moment up the left seam, but Boldin was open only for a moment. By the time Leinart threw it, safety Rashad Baker had moved into position for an easy interception. Baker waited for the ball and fielded it well in front of Boldin.
Yes, it's only preseason, but a horrendous showing from Leinart isn't going to help him hold off veteran Kurt Warner for the starting job. Leinart has completed 4 of 12 passes for 24 yards and three picks. His rating fell from 5.3 to 2.8 after the latest interception.
